    JV Driver Fabricators in Phoenix, AZ, is looking for a Project Manager experienced in managing commercial or institutional projects, and who knows that building projects and building relationships go hand in hand. Working collaboratively as part of our team and in partnership with our clients, you will ensure that their expectations have been met and exceeded.

    Job Overview


    The Project Manager is a key member of the project leadership team, reporting to and taking direction from the General Manager. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage the successful completion of industrial and/or Commercial Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection projects in Southwest USA, currently in Arizona and California. Experience with piping and modules are an asset.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Reviews and understands project deliverables and associated reports
    • Strong operational knowledge of the JVD Group and related companies
    • Comprehends safety, contracts, sub-contracts, strategies and procurement processes
    • Develops the project budget for direct, indirect and other costs based on estimates provided for identified project scope of work
    • Creates Project Performance Assessments
    • Establishes project management strategies for engineering design, procurement, tender process, contract negotiations and award, and commissioning
    • May monitor construction and financial activities through administrative direction of on-site managers
    • Provides overall management direction for project planning, scheduling, resources and budget tracking for major construction projects
    • Manage multiple projects with a scope of 100k – 5 million dollars
    • Procurement Approvals
    • Scheduling job specific tasks/milestones
    • Review and direction of cost coding and split
    • Sub-contract/contract review and direction
    • Change management/budgetary reviews
    • Sub-contract follow up
    • Supervise, mentor, coach and train project personnel
    • Participate in tender closings when requested
    • Oversees projects with 80 employees and has 2 to 7 direct reports
    • Others tasks or duties as assigned by General Manager


    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ Project Management experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering or related field
    • Solid understanding of scopes and costs of steel erection and subcontractor
    • Experience in creating preliminary construction schedules
    • Ability to assist in determining bid strategies
    • Knowledge of contracts, codes and industry standards and practices
    • Solid understanding of related computer applications including spreadsheet and scheduling software
    • Demonstrated leadership skills are a must
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills
    • Must be competent in the technical skills of interpreting drawings and specifications
    • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Proven creative problem solving skills
