    Job Overview

    Assists scaffold erectors in the efficient safe erection and dismantling of scaffolding. Additional responsibilities may include general housekeeping and a variety of projects that may be assigned.

    Performance Objectives

    • Assist in the erection and dismantling of scaffold equipment safely and efficiently: Banding of equipment for loading and unloading trucks, staging and mobilization, setting scaffold bases and framing, assist in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, assist in tying off of and hoisting of scaffolding equipment, and climbing ladders to access scaffolding. While performing the aforementioned tasks, the helper must always be cognizant of erection and dismantling sequencing, project specifications (good understanding of customers need for building access), and all applicable safety guidelines.
    • Maintain a safe work site, free of safety hazards by monitoring compliance with safety program requirements. Document and/or communicate safety concerns to appropriate parties.
    • Communicate and listen effectively with coworkers, branch manager, and possibly customer (lead erectors).
    • Clean work areas, restock supplies, and perform minor maintenance duties on the job site.

     

    Technical Objectives

    • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
    • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
    • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions

     

    Work Experience

    No experience or up to (2) two years of experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro-chemical complexes, power plants, etc.  

    Education

    High School Diploma/GED preferred. Job related experience may substitute.

    Safety Objective

    The responsibility for safety and safe work performance lies with each individual.  Each worker must work closely with the job site supervisors to ensure a safe work environment.  Refer to Section 2.9.1 of the JV Driver Health & Safety Manual for a description of responsibilities. 

     
    Requirements:

    Valid Driver License
    TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Card)
